Character Descriptions
Daniel
Hustling is the only life he's known. But has grown tired of the lifestyle. Works hard to change and dedicate his life to the word and his family. Main Character. Must be able to sing. Male late 20's to early 30's.
Big Dan
(Daniel's Father) Oldest brother to Keith, Ricky and Chris. Fearless and gangsta. Yet humble because of his love for God. Turned his life around while serving a 20 year bid for a murder he did not commit. Male, early to late 40's. Must be able to sing.
Ricky
(Daniel's Uncle) is arrogant and self-centered. Hustling is his life. He's also known as the Kingpin of the drug game. Male, mid 30's to early 40's.
Ma Betty
(Daniel's Grandmother) Grandma Betty Jean is a retired wise and witty older woman with a good sense of humor, who is in her early to late 60's. Must be able to sing.
Jayda
Intelligent and attractive young lady who is an aspiring attorney. Female in her late 20's early 30's. Must be able to sing.
Chris
(Also Daniel's Uncle) Funny but laid back, calm demeanor. Chris is also a part of the drug dealing lifestyle. He, Ricky, Big Dan and Keith are brothers. Male, Mid 30's.
Keith
(another of Daniel's Uncles) is a long time, dedicated gang banger with a wild sense of humor. He, Ricky and Big Dan are brothers. Male, mid to late 30's.
Sergeant J
Ex- drug dealer turned Minister. Currently Ministering and serving the police force. Sergeant J becomes a mentor to Daniel. Male mid 40's.
Elder
Portrayed as a much older gentlemen with the gift of Prophecy. But has a bit of trouble with his natural sight. Elder is to the point and comical but is a very spiritual person. His character can be played by any age as long as the character is displayed as much older. Will have a scene to dance. Character is male in his late 70's.

About Me
Qianna (SoQi) Harris
I am the Writer, Director and Producer.
This has been a dream of mine for quite some time. I began writing this play in 2012 during a tremendously rough time in my life. It was a dream I thought could never come true due to hard times, being a wife, a mother, lack of finances and worst of all... fear.
Later on, in 2016 I decided I would make my passion a full time career. I have 8 children ... but boldly left my job to live a dream that has encouraged me to focus on the salvation of others through my writing and entertainment.
My mission is to encourage our men. And to encourage a shift in mindsets. To show love and support to our young men and women through thought-provoking, socially relevant theatre and drama. Sharing the word of God and bringing wisdom to the streets. I have faith greater than a mustard seed and know I will fulfill my mission.
